Aphelion
Aphelion, here the past is far removed
the space between can grow no greater
lonely cold engulfs what i have become
Silent drifter
at the end of old things
or the beginning of new
Purpose, seen by my straining eye
absorbed by my single sense but out of reach
as is the heat from the sun
Ever wistful
i peer at the far light
aching for the warmth of home
Haven, quiet resting place amongst myriad stars
each twinkling bright an offer
of the warmth of my lost sun
Respite
looking out i see familiar
only in all things new and strange
Essence, distilled from the worst of me
as i wander through the silent filter of experience
a struggle against gravity
Explorer
the scars upon me
testimony to the obstacles in my path
Language, a silent reflection of light
only noticed by the darkness
that i release as i speak to the eyes
Naked
bringing nothing to hide
here to the endless field
Insight, as i look to myself
to the depths of my molten core
searching deep to recover what lies beneath
Identity reborn
from the crucible womb
that is the very heart of me
Obstacles, littering the paths to the star of my past
i am losing sight of the way to return
in the stillness i discover
Truth
at the end of old things
is the beginning of new
Numbered days, i feel the weight of time upon me
renewal will come to me now
my home is the very heart of me
Yearning
but there is no journey back
i must become the sun
